Sharanya Development Foundation, in partnership with MetLife Hyderabad, is committed to creating healthier, safer, and more supportive communities through meaningful initiatives that address the needs of adolescent girls. As part of this effort, a menstrual hygiene initiative was undertaken at ZPHS Kajaguda School, with a strong focus on promoting awareness, dignity, and safe menstrual practices among adolescent girls. Sanitary napkin incinerators were provided to the school to enable the safe and hygienic disposal of sanitary products and promote a cleaner school environment. Beyond providing infrastructure, the initiative contributes to building an environment where girls can manage menstruation with greater confidence, privacy, dignity, and comfort. By addressing an important but often overlooked need, the initiative supports girls' health, well-being, regular participation in school, and continued education. ❤️ Srikanth’s Story: Two Years of Care and Support Srikanth has been living with the effects of polio since childhood and is bedridden, making it difficult for him to manage many basic day-to-day needs independently. For the past two years, Sharanya Development Foundation has been providing Srikanth with monthly grocery support, helping ensure that essential food and household provisions are available to him regularly. This support may seem simple, but for someone who is bedridden and dependent on others for his daily needs, a grocery kit means food on the table, dignity, and a little more security each month. Some moments stay with you long after they are over. This was one of them. ❤️ EDUCATION SUPPORT TO NEEDY Two young girls are desperately trying to continue their education, but their families are struggling financially. One is from a single-parent family. The other’s father works as a security guard and is battling kidney-related health issues. Their dreams are simple — to study, complete their education and build a better life. But for their families, even education fees have become a heavy burden. When we told them that we would sponsor their education and help them continue their studies, one of the girls could not hold back her tears. She touched our feet and took our blessings. Those tears were not just tears of emotion. They carried relief, gratitude and perhaps the feeling that someone finally believed in her dream. It reminded me that sometimes, we don't need to change the whole world. We just need to make sure that one child's dream doesn't end because her family cannot afford it. Let her study. Let her dream.
